Marbella, Sotogrande & Andalucia Golf

Key Features

With over 70 golf courses in relatively close proximity to one another, between Gibraltar in the west and Malaga in the east, and many luxurious resorts overlooking the sea, it’s easy to understand why Andalucía is one of our favorite golf destinations.

The most famous course is Valderrama, which hosted the 1997 Ryder Cup plus many Spanish Open’s, Volvo Masters, American Express Championships, and now the LIV Golf Tour. This is a fantastic venue, which is known for its impeccable playing conditions and the gorgeous layout by Robert Trent Jones Sr.

For customized options, Shandi Golf recommends building your trip around Valderrama availably, then adding in the other courses and resorts to round out your Spain golf trip. It’s important to include some free days too for adequate sightseeing to include perhaps a day in Seville, a bullfight in Marbella, tour of The Alhambra in Granada, or even a day trip by ferry to Morocco to experience another continent.

For a golf vacation that has it all, our Marbella, Sotogrande & Andalucia golf trip is the perfect option. Marbella, Spain’s Costa del Sol cultural and nightlife capital, and neighboring Sotogrande have a world-renowned reputation for their golfing scene.

With stunning scenery, exceptional greens, and world-class courses, it’s no wonder both amateur and professional golfers love Andalucia golf so much. But it’s not just golf that draws people here, the region also offers miles of Mediterranean coastline, rolling hills, vibrant nightlife, and highly-reviewed restaurants.

Your trip will start in Marbella, with courses including the La Quinta course, designed by Ryder Cup champion, Manuel Piñero, Marbella Golf Country Club, Los Naranjos Golf Club, and countless others.

Sotogrande golf offers some of the best in the country, with Real Club Valderrama and La Reserva just two of the stand-out courses in the area. Finca Cortesin, between Marbella and Sotogrande resorts, is also worth a visit. Having played host to the Solheim Cup in 2023, the tournament’s first in Spain, you’re guaranteed great play here.

Just beyond Seville is the Algarve region of Portugal with the many resorts and sun kissed golf courses.

Consider adding some days around the Catalonia capital of Barcelona, with the amazing architecture, and tasty Tapas bars.

Madrid is among the most elegant cities of Europe, the Capital of Spain is known for the Prado Museum, Plaza Mayor, and the Royal Palace and Amory.

Northeast from Barcelona to the French border, the Costa Brava is the relaxed gourmet area famed for stunning coastline, pine forests, and memorable courses such as Golf de Pals, d’Aro, Camiral Stadium Course, and Emporda GC, to name a few.

You could also jump down to the Spanish island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands. There are eight beautiful courses on the island with gorgeous ocean and cliffside views.
